FaceTime is a video telephony and VoIP software developed and published by Apple Inc. It is available for Mac OS X and iOS platforms. It is compatible with any Mac OS X device with a FaceTime camera, and with any iOS device that includes a front camera. It allows the Apple users to carry out free video calls between each other, no matter where they are or which device they are using. The only requirement is to have a WiFi connection with the Internet in devices with an OS previous to iOS 6, and an Internet connection with the rest of devices.
Thanks to the amazing new technologies, the HD video calls are available
The app perfectly integrates with Mac and iOS, offering a clean and elegant interface, with some tools such as the agenda, from where you will be able to call any contact that has FaceTime. You're required to have an Apple ID to create an account with FaceTime. On iPhone devices, the app is fully integrated with the phone's agenda, and the only thing you have to do to video call someone is to tap the FaceTime button to change from simple call to video conference.
Talk with your friends all over the world
Once you download it to your Mac, FaceTime will synchronize with Contacts, so to call someone, you just have to start typing his or her name and it will automatically find him or her. If you want to call someone on his or her iPhone, you just have to click on the phone number, to call someone on a Mac, iPod Touch or iPad, click on the email and your contact will receive an invitation on his or her screen. As soon as he or she accepts the invitation, the free call will start. If someone calls you, you will hear the call on all your connected Mac and devices, even if you do not have FaceTime open. If you do not want to recieve incoming calls, just deactivate FaceTime in your preferences.
Thanks to the amazing new technologies, HD video calls are now available. FaceTime for Mac is compatible with images up to 720p on a MacBook Air, MacBook Pro or iMac with FaceTime HD cam integrated. The camera also allows a 16:9 format, so you will have a wider view of your friends. Thus, the image quality is excellent and far superior to other video telephony software out in the market. In addition, the program makes everything simple thanks to its intuitive responses; if you change the orientation of your iPhone, the Mac screen will change, too.
